  This book is the vivid narration by Ambassador Jorge Garcia-Granados of the international political drama behind the recommendation for partition of Palestine by the United Nations General Assembly in November 1947. This resolution led to the creation of State of Israel a few months later in 1948. Ambassador Garchia-Granados was the highest ranked representative of his country, Guatemala, both in Washington and at the United Nations. He later represented his country as a ambassador to Israel and also to the UK. He died in 1961 while representing his government at the Inter-American conference in Santiago, Chile.
